David Harold Brown 81 of Denton passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Presbyterian Hospital.  He was born in Silensia, Maryland to Gerald and Hosie Ophelia Taylor Brown.

He married Jeanne Cecelia Powers on June 1, 1968 in Mt. Rainer, Maryland. He moved to Texas with his family in 1982. His wife preceded him in death on December 3, 2003.  David worked in the Custodial Department at the University of North Texas until his retirement. He spent the last 20 years of his life with his partner Vickie Laws. He loved camping, country music, making jokes, and spending time with his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, March 1, 2024 in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors.  Family friend, Father Sergio Rizo, will officiate the service.  He will be laid to rest next to his wife, Jeanne, at Cooper Creek Cemetery in Denton.

David is survived by, his two sons, Joseph Michael Brown and Jorge Rizo Brown, and a daughter Blanca Lilia Loza; six grandchildren – Maya Michele Brown, Lizette Loza, Vivianna Loza, Jayden Michelle Brown, Jarrett Dawson Brown, and Colton Brown; nephew Patrick Resse, his wife Melinda and their 3 sons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and son David Harold Brown, Jr.
