David Whytt Ellis, 81, of Denton passed away on August 30, 2026, in Denton, Texas. He was born in Denton, Texas on July 20, 1945, to John and Ruth Ellis.
David served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, faithfully and bravely fighting for our country's freedoms, and later worked as a massage therapist for many years, helping individuals release the pressures of everyday life. He was married to Barbara Ellis for 50 wonderful, memory filled years. He enjoyed working outdoors, soaking in the sun and spending time outside, and was a member of Willowwood Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed helping others and worshiping God. He had a servant's heart and made sure everyone around him was taken care of in one way or another, spreading the love of Jesus Christ to all.
He enjoyed going to the gym to exercise, taking pleasure in maintaining an active lifestyle, RV traveling thru the U.S., taking in the beauty of God's creation with Barbara at his side, gardening, giving to others, playing with their dogs, & creating & maintaining the church grounds when he was younger, making sure the church was a beautiful and peaceful place of worship.
