April 23, 1930 – July 31, 2023
David Lee (Big D) Waller, 93, Arlington, loving husband, father and grandfather left this earth and stepped into heaven Monday, July 31. He is now in the presence of His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, his family and all the saints. David was born on April 23, 1930 in Fate, Texas to W.B. and Ollie Waller. He graduated from Rockwall High School in 1947 and North Texas University in 1951. David met his wife, Peggy Whitlock while attending North Texas and they enjoyed 66 years of marriage. David served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked for LTV Vought for 35 years and retired in 1986. David and his family were active members at Lamar Baptist Church in Arlington where he served as a deacon. David was also active as a leader in Bible Study Fellowship. David was a part of multiple mission trips to several foreign countries and was instrumental in founding Global Bible Distributors with the purpose of purchasing and distributing Bibles in Uganda.
He is survived by his sister Jo Nell Leonard, daughter Dana Opper and husband Darrell, son Victor Waller and wife Celeste, daughter Leslie Duncan and husband David, grandchildren Guy Opper and wife Rachel, Leslie-Marie Napper and husband Todd, Clint Waller, Jana Gilkey and husband Sam and Annemarie Kammerer and husband Bradley. David is also survived by 6 great grandchildren as well as many good friends.
A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for Saturday, August 19, 1:00 PM at Indian Hills Baptist Church, 814 Tamara Lane in Grand Prairie, TX.
