Dawna L. Richter

March 19, 1962 – October 11, 2019

It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Dawna L. Richter.  Born in Oakland, California March 19, 1962, Dawna was a long-time resident of Dallas.  She graduated from the University of North Texas in 1984 with a degree in Business Administration.  She earned an MBA from Texas Christian University in 1993.  She earned the Certified Financial Planning credential after completing the course at Southern Methodist University.  Dawna worked in the banking industry for many years.

Dawna contributed her energies and passion to the boards of directors of the Dallas Women's Foundation, Girls Inc., TACA and the Dallas Arboretum. Additionally, she supported Chiapas International, Junior League of Dallas, and TexProtects. Furthering her fierce advocacy for the dignity of all humans, Dawna recently became interested in New Friends New Life.  She also championed humane care for all animals.

Her many friends will miss Dawna's humor, creativity and generosity.  She is survived by her parents Don and Judy Richter, her sister Lynda and her family all of Corinth, Texas.  Also grieving her death are her brother Steve and his family in Lufkin, Texas as well as her niece Lindsey Payne and nephews Nathan Payne and Micah Richter. Additionally, she is missed by her dear friend Bart Cousins. Dawna was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ and will one day be reunited with her earthly family in Heaven.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at DeBerry Funeral Directors 2025 West University Drive, Denton, Texas 76201.
