Obituary

Debbie Fette Marino, 78, of Denton, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026. She was born on July 18, 1947, to Emmett Fette and Marie Arendt Fette and raised in Muenster, Texas.

Debbie lived a life centered around people, family, and friendship. She never met a stranger and had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, valued, and loved. Whether at the grocery store, running errands, or simply out in the community, Debbie could turn a quick stop into a conversation and a new friendship. Her wit, honesty, real humor, and heartfelt nature made people instantly comfortable around her. Everything Debbie did came from the heart, and her warmth and genuine interest in others touched countless lives over the years.

In 1968, Debbie married Lloyd Klement, and together they had two children, Mindy and Steven, who were truly the joys of her life. Debbie was the kind of mother every child hopes for – funny, kind, supportive, and endlessly encouraging. She celebrated every success, stood beside her children through every challenge, and always pushed them to become the very best versions of themselves.

In 1985, Debbie married the love of her life, Michael Marino. Together they built a happy life filled with laughter, love, and companionship, along with their beloved Mini Australian Shepherd, Duke.

Debbie’s outgoing personality and natural ability to connect with people made her successful in every career she pursued. She proudly started and ran her own Tom’s Snack Foods franchise, building relationships throughout Denton while selling chips, candy bars, and other treats to local gas stations and businesses. Her children often rode along in the delivery truck, learning salesmanship and customer service firsthand while sweating beside their mom in the 110-degree Texas heat.

She later worked for Miller Beer of Denton as an Outside Sales Representative, where she built lasting relationships with many of the bars and restaurants throughout Denton. Her ability to connect with people naturally led her into a third career as a hospital admissions representative at Presbyterian Hospital. There, she once again formed meaningful friendships with nurses, doctors, administrators, patients, and visitors alike.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Michael Marino; daughter, Mindy Klement and husband Jamie Dunn, along with Campbell Dunn and Morgan Dunn; son, Steven Klement and wife Ilene Klement, along with Lexi Arguello and Lauren Arguello; sisters Monica Hess and husband Jerry, and Rita Russell and husband Robert; brother Milton Fette and wife Becky; sister-in-law Mary Marino; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Eagle Ridge Memory Care in Denton for the exceptional love, compassion, and care they provided Debbie during the last years of her life.

Debbie will be remembered for her laughter, her warmth, her strength, and the way she made people feel seen and loved. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a legacy of kindness that will continue through all who knew her.

A private family gathering will be held to celebrate her life. Those wishing to honor Debbie’s life may make donations to the American Alzheimer’s Association or the Denton Humane Society.
