Ann Crouch

Deborah Ann Crouch (Debby) passed away on June 19, 2018 at Good Samaritan Denton Village. Debby was born on January 14, 1935 in Montclair, N.J. She was the daughter of Thomas and Betsy Norris. In 1955, she met the love of her life, Bill Crouch, at Drew University. They married one year later, and she began a new life as the wife of a Methodist preacher. Together they served churches in Missoula, MT; Stony Point, NY; University Park, TX; Garland, TX and Denton, TX. In 1977, Bill Crouch was appointed to serve as the pastor of First United Methodist Church in Denton. They loved Denton and made the decision to return here after Bill's retirement in 1999. Debby was a pre-school teacher, Sunday school teacher and member of the church choir. She loved coffee and chocolate, good books and classical music, cooking for others and all of her dogs through the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Crouch, in May 2008, survived by their 4 children: Tim Crouch and wife Camille of Denton, Mary Beth Hardesty-Crouch and husband Brian Hardesty of Lewisville, Joel Crouch and wife Tammy of Plano, and Sarah Frerking and husband Michael Frerking of Springfield, MO. Debby also had 10 grandchildren: Charles Wesley Crouch, William Crouch, Christopher Hardesty-Crouch, Lily Hardesty-Crouch, Mitchell Crouch, Katie Crouch, Claire Crouch, Natalie Frerking, Gabi Frerking and Mia Frerking. She is also survived by a sister, Gail Stein, of Warren, NJ and her brother-in-law, Robert Crouch of Silver Springs, MD.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Debby Crouch will be held at First United Methodist Church on July 14 th at 2:00pm. Visitation will be at 6:00pm on July 13 th in Miller Center of First UMC Denton. Debby asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made to First UMC Denton, Interfaith Ministries, Friends of the Family, Denton Public Library, Ann's Haven Hospice, and the Denton Animal Shelter.
