Delma Durwood Tonn, 92, of Denton, went home to be with his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, April 25, 2016 at his residence. He was born March 10, 1924 in Coahoma, Texas to James Roy and Vinnie Lois Shirley Tonn. He married Ima Mae Smith on August 31, 1945 in Eastland, Texas. She preceded him in death. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He graduated from Texas Wesleyan University and had retired as Vice Principal of Denton High School. He was also a champion fiddle player and taught Sunday school for many years.

He is survived by his daughter, Teri Smith of Denton; sons, Rick Tonn of Dixie, WA, Gary Tonn of Merridan, ID and Timothy Tonn of Wylie; sister, Pearl McDaniels of Angelton; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be Monday, May 2, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
