IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dennis Wayne
Davis
December 30, 1966 – January 2, 2018
Dennis Wayne Davis, often referred to as "Red", of Pilot Point, Texas passed away at home on January 2, 2018 at the age of 51.
He was born in Seville, Spain to Jimmy Howard Davis, Sr. and Juanita Marie Tucker on December 30, 1966. He graduated from Pilot Point High School in 1986 where he was known for being involved in sports such as, track and football. After graduating high school, Dennis followed in the footsteps of his family members by joining the military and enlisting in the Army. After Dennis was dragged by an airplane and suffered injury, he was honorably discharged. Dennis is survived by his beloved wife, Gina Davis; and his first wife, Cherie Galarneaux. On January 17, 1991 and January 20, 1997 respectively, he welcomed his two beautiful children, who were the most important part of his life.
Dennis was a devoted father and an avid golfer. Depending on the time of year, you could usually find Dennis near a body of water fishing, in the woods hunting, or inside playing video games with his daughter. Dennis soon found his career calling and pursued neon bending. He was an excellent cook and was known far and wide for his "fried taters" and Velveeta cheese dip (recipes available upon request). He was somewhat of a handyman and would take on difficult projects around the house and at work. He then became a member of the church and found his spirituality and involved himself in numerous church activities. Dennis yearned to spread his outdoors man knowledge and became a Boy Scouts of America Scoutmaster where he taught the youth how to survive in the wild. Dennis or Red, was a beloved community member and will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him (however, the North Texas deer population breathed a sigh of relief upon notification of his passing).
He is survived by his wife, Gina Davis of Pilot Point, daughter, Naudiea Davis of New Mexico, his mother, Juanita Tucker of Denton, sister Anna Gray of Illinois, brothers, Jimmy Davis of Pilot Point and Roy Davis of Texas.
He is preceded in death by his father and infant child Dennis Jr.
The family will receive friends at The Church of Latter Day Saints 8801 Martop Dr., in Aubrey, Texas on Monday, January 8, 2018 from 9-10 AM. Interment will be held at the DFW National Cemetery on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 10:30 AM with military Honors.
