Obituary

Dennis L. Page, age 83, peacefully passed away on March 6, 2024, in Denton, Texas. He was surrounded by love and family following a long battle with Alzheimer's. Born in Charlotte, Michigan, on August 9, 1940, to Ray and Mary Page, Dennis (Denny) was the youngest of nine children.

Denny was an outstanding athlete at Potterville High School in Michigan. He lettered in football, basketball, and baseball. In November 1960, he married the love of life, Joyce Fogle. Denny emphasized the importance of how much Joyce meant to him, especially her beautiful smile, incredible dance skills, and home-style cooking. Their marriage was founded on love, family and laughter.

In the 1960s, Denny and Joyce had two children, Elizabeth (Labeth) Page and Catherine (Cathy) Page Huggins. His greatest joy was raising daughters who understood the value of humor, a strong work ethic, and optimism in life. He called them his "Page Boys" and they followed in his footsteps as talented athletes.

Over the next 60+ years, Denny was a bright light and dynamo who touched thousands of people. Whether it was through his beloved Elks Lodge, a 17-year career at American Airlines, or countless family reunions, he brought joy and laughter to all around him. Denny also was a dedicated public servant as a firefighter and a successful small business owner.

Denny was particularly proud of his two granddaughters. Denny and Joyce enjoyed watching Labeth's daughters play sports and excel in academics. Denny cheered them on to become the best that they could be whether it was Rose's perfect pitch singing, horseback riding and Special Olympic competitions or if it was Abigail on the soccer field or her service to the community as an educator and soccer coach for blind soccer and power wheelchair soccer. He also was extremely proud of their polka dancing abilities and focus on family.

The Page family was blessed when Cathy married Jeff Huggins almost 29 years ago. Over the years, Jeff became Denny's soundboard and someone to share "guy" humor with and learn about the Page women. Denny was the catalyst for Jeff joining the Elks Lodge and they had many great times sharing stories there.

Denny's favorite saying was "I love life. Life loves me." He strongly believed in having fun with his life-long best friend, Skip Davenport, and many others who embraced his innate ability to laugh, joke and savor all that life brought his way.

Denny is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce; daughter / granddaughters, Labeth, Rose, and Abigail Page, daughter / son-in-law Catherine and Jeff Huggins; brother, Roger (Bethel) Page; seven brothers-in-law, Jim, Tom (Jo), Tony (Linda), Dave (Laura), Mike (Jill), and Steve (Grace); and sister-in-law Mary (David) Roby. He has dozens of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews within the Page and Fogle families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Mary Page; brothers, Ray Junior (Jane), Jack (Betty), Bob (Pat), Don (Elaine), Ernie (Eloise), along with sisters, Beryl (Jim) and Mary Lou (Russell). Also, in-laws, Glenn and Mary Fogle and brother-in-law, Joe Fogle.

The Page family would like to express their deep gratitude to Eagle Ridge Alzheimer's Special Care Center and Dallas Hospice for their compassion and dedication in caring for Denny and his family with grace and respect.
