Obituary

Dianne Lowery Small Bailey, 63, of Denton, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. Dee was born on October 31, 1949 in Phoenix, Arizona to David J. Small, Jr. and Jean Lowery Small. She married Robert Mario David Bailey on September 26, 1982 in Lewisville.

She taught music, early childhood special education, and gifted and talented children for most of her career. After her retirement, she continued to follow her calling, volunteering to teach computer literacy classes at the Denton Library.

Dee not only taught as her profession, but she was a teacher to everyone who knew her. Even in the midst of personal and physical adversity, she always looked to help others. She saw the best in people and would bring that forth to help them become a better version of themselves.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors.

Dee is survived by her husband, Bob; daughter and son-in-law, Meghan and Erik Rygg; Meghan's father, Brian Patrick, son and daughter-in-law, David and Leigh Bailey; mother, Jean Lowery Small; sister, Babs Small; brothers, David Small and F. Scott Small; and 3 grandchildren, Evan, Gillian and Colin. She is preceded in death by her father, David J. Small, Jr.
