Don Gentry was born Jan. 14, 1943 in Grapeland, Texas to Georgia and Leslie Gentry.

He passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 in Denton, Texas.

Survived by sister Frances Herod and husband Porter, brother Jerry Gentry. Sons Barney Davis & wife Cindy, son Todd Davis & wife Rita Poletti, and son Russ DeWolfe and wife Beth. Grandchildren Adam Davis and wife Krispin & Christopher DeWolfe and wife Jennifer, Rebecca Davis, and Nicholas DeWolfe and wife Amber. Great grand children Attila, Ashton, Aiden, Addyson, and Spencer DeWolfe.

In his younger years, Don served in the Army, and moved to Dallas, TX upon being honorably discharged. He then made the decision to become a Fireman for the Dallas Fire Department, where he served honorably for 25 years. As young rookie fireman he, and soon to be wife Betty Weehunt fell instantly in love. Don had a special love for her kids, and by helped get her kids out of The Methodist Home, and unselfishly provided what they needed to have a real family. Don professed his love for the Lord many times, therefore we pray for all the family members left behind that they may have peace in her memory knowing that he is in heaven.
