On November 1, 2018, Don Robert McGregor was struggling to breathe. He was rushed to Medical City where he suffered a heart attack and passed away in the early morning hours at the age of 69.

Don Robert McGregor was born on July 19, 1949 in Perryton, TX to parents James Masterson McGregor and Helen Risley McGregor. He grew up in Texas and New Mexico where he discovered his love of the outdoors and 'The Cowboy Way'.

Don was a graduate of Richardson High School and he attended both Texas Tech University and the University of North Texas. During his college years, he worked in his family's business but found his profession after attending 'Mud Engineering' school. Don worked in the Oil Industry for over 40 years which allowed him the opportunity to travel around the world. In recent years, he has been enjoying his retirement in Nacona, TX with his wife Sharon, his sister Sue, and a close-knit community of friends and neighbors.

Don will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 13 years, Sharon and his children, Michael (Kelly) Reese, Melissa (Chad) Breshears, and Molly (Ben) Cox. Don will also be sadly missed by his 4 grandchildren, Clive, Adeline, Emery, and Penny, by his sister Sue McGregor, his wife's parents Marvin and Fjola Jeffries, his brother-in-law Keith (Tammy) Jeffries, and his sisters-in-law Gail Pierce and Jennifer Bauer. Don will also be forever remembered by his extended family and dear friends.

A Celebration of Don McGregor's life will be held on Tuesday, November 6th, 2018 at 2:00 PM at DeBerry Funeral Home, 2025 West University, Denton, TX 76201.
