Obituary

Donald James Birdsall, 88, of Corinth, Texas passed away at home, with his wife by his side, on Saturday, February 19, 2022. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Tilden and Elizabeth Alice Birdsall.

Donald attended schools in Louisiana, and shortly after turning of age, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was trained and served as a Radio Operator in the Korean War. He met Cynthia, his future wife, in New Orleans shortly after he left the service.  He attended Tulane University for two years.  The pair went on to marry in 1958 in Vacherie, Louisiana.  The union was blessed with two children.

Prior to his retirement, Donald was employed with RCA (now known as General Electric) for 35 years.  As an avid golfer all of his life, after retirement he became a PGA Teaching Professional and taught professional golf for several years at Lake Park Golf course in Lewisville, TX.

Donald is preceded in death by his father, Tilden Birdsall, mother, Alice Sconza, sister Dorothy Marcade and brothers, Gene and Raymond Birdsall. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Cynthia Birdsall, daughter, Dawn Losh and husband, David of Missouri, son, Gregg Birdsall and wife, Dana of Texas, grandchildren, Ashley (Chris), Haley (Garet), Stephanie (Jeff) and Hannah (Logan). He is also survived by his niece, Kerri Rodriguez and one great-grandson, Grayson.

A memorial service will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church-Denton, 6500 Crawford Road, Argyle, TX 76226 on Thursday, March 10, 2022 beginning at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas at 2:30 P.M.
