Donald Stanley Cowell III, 52, of Hickory Creek, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017. He was born on August 27, 1965 in Pontiac, MI. to Donald Stanley Cowell Jr. and Patricia (Gould) Cowell.   Don went to Hazel Park High School in Hazel Park Michigan and studied at Northwood University in Cedar Hill, Texas.

Don was proud United States Marine.  Don and his family were members at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denton.   He worked as a Regional Quality Assurance Manager at Fastenal for several years.

Don was an extremely giving man and dedicated a lot of his time to family, friends and his community.   He enjoyed tinkering with any projects at the house and was a master at fixing whatever needed fixing.   He enjoyed fishing, camping, and boating.  He loved flying his drones and airplanes.  He liked to cook and prepare meals for his son to warm up after school.   His favorite past time, was watching his son play baseball over the years and see him grow into the man he is.    Above and beyond all of Don's personal and professional accomplishments, he valued his friends and cherished his family.

Don is survived by his wife, Phyllis Cowell and their son Donald (L.D.) Cowell IV., Lake Dallas, Texas., his sister, Deana Pokotello (Adrian), Smiths Creek, Michigan,  sister, Annette Everson (Terry),  Layton , Utah,  sister, Mindi Avery (Linc),  Ruby, Michigan, sister, Holly Greer (Charlie) Brimfield, Illinois, sister, Sarah Cowell,  brother, Arthur Cowell.  He was a Beloved uncle to 19 nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Stanley Cowell Jr., mother, Patricia Cowell and sister, Darlinda Cowell.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 6-8 P.M. at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 25, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial to follow at D.F.W. National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
