Donald J. Grimes of Denton Texas passed away on September 1, 2016 at age 91. He was born in Alabama on December 3, 1924 to his parents Clem and Alice Grimes. He has been reunited with his beloved wife Ruby and son Michael, his siblings Walter, Bobby and Becky.
He is survived by daughter Penny & her husband Bob, grandson Marty & his wife Liz, granddaughters Tammy and Rebecca, great grandchildren Kyle, Dallas, Savanah, Layla, Skyla and Heaven, his daughter-in-law Debbie, brothers Edward and Jerry and sister-in-law Mildred.
Donald was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He worked for the railroad in Montana before becoming a medical supply salesman and later starting and managing biomedical engineering departments. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, the Masons and the Shriners. After retiring at the age of 70, Donald and his wife Ruby moved from California to Denton Texas. In February 1996 he began a new career as a Walmart associate at Walmart store 467 in Denton Texas where he worked in the sporting goods department for over 20 years. Don took great pride and joy in his family of which his undying love will not be forgotten. His smile, kind heart, love for people and funny stories will be missed by all.
Viewing will be held at Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors on Friday September 16, 2016 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Services will be held 3:30 pm Saturday September 17, 2016 in the Chapel of Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors, 2025 West University Drive Denton, Texas. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
