Donald H. Maurer, 74, of Denton, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020. He was born on April 18, 1945 in Floral Park, New York to Howard and Rose Maurer. Don married Jacquelyn Calverley in Las Vegas on February 10, 1990. He retired from the New York City Police Department. After retirement Don enjoyed golfing, bowling and singing in the Robson Ranch Community Choir.  He was a member of the Argyle United Methodist Church where he worked in the Stephen Ministry and he also participated in the Robson Ranch Men's Bible Study.

Don is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert and his son, Donald.  .

Don is survived by his wife Jacquelyn and sister Marianne (John) Veenstra, daughter, Donna (Michael) Vaz, sons James (Elena) Maurer and Daniel (Ayrn) Maurer, and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Argyle United Methodist Church with a reception to follow.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Don's name to the Stephen Ministry at Argyle United Methodist Church.
