Obituary

Donna Rhae Cutchen
October 27, 1939 – April 27, 2024

Donna Rhae Cutchen passed away in Flower Mound, Texas on Saturday, April 27, 2024. She was born in San Francisco, CA to David George Sheldon and Luella Glacial Eagleton on October 27, 1939.

She always said her biggest accomplishment in this life was being a wife and a mother. She was not afraid to try anything – designing and sewing wedding gowns for her daughters; sewing our clothes; planting gardens; raising turkeys, chickens, and rabbits; canning food; making home-made bread; home improvements; building bicycles for her kids; quilting; Brazilian embroidery; designing dolls; refinishing and tuning the family piano; singing in choirs; attending church; taking her children to the beach, museums, and amusement parks; family emergency planning; singing with our dad; giving us fancy hairdos on picture day; family barber; making doll birthday cakes; Cub Scouts den mother; 4 Eagle Scouts in the family; moving and making new friends; making resin grapes in the 70's; painting; camping; reading and eating jars of pepperoncini's or pixie sticks (but not the ones filled with salt!); Facebook; watching movies; taking care of her dad and our dad before they passed away; and her most favorite activity in the last few years was to work on and teach genealogy.

Our mom and dad first met in their high school choir in Red Bluff, CA. They began dating and our mom was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After graduating from high school, they married on September 25, 1959, and almost celebrated 56 years of marriage before our dad passed away in 2015. Our mom held many positions in the church – Sunday School teacher, den mother, Primary teacher, Primary President, Girls Camp Leader, and most recently, Genealogy Specialist. Our mom had a very firm testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon. She did her best to keep the commandments and the covenants she made with Heavenly Father.

Our mom is preceded in death by her parents – George and Luella; husband – Jeddy; siblings – George, baby sister, Patricia, Henry, and Jimmy; and Nikki, Charlie (our brother), and Millie.

Our mom is survived by her four amazing children, Janet (Paul), Richard, Charlotte (Matt), and Dore (Phil), 18 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren with two more on the way.

Please join us in celebrating the life of our awesome mother at a funeral service that will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 902 Chinn Chapel Road in Highland Village on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 10:00 AM. We will then dedicate her grave at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Denton at 1:00 PM.
