Donnie Ross Akin, 86,of Sanger, Tx., passed away on August 27, 2022 at his home. He was born in Grayson County, Texas to Francis and Princess (Clinton) Akin on December 12, 1935.

Donnie was a hard-working man and a loving husband and father. Donnie and Frances were married 67 years. He felt if you didn't work, you didn't eat.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Akin, daughter, Deborah Denise Conley of Sanger, sons, Ricky Don Akin, and wife Connie of Aubrey, sister, Janice Heard of Wichita Falls, brother, Franklin Lee Akin of Bonham, Tx., grandchildren, Matthew Conley, and wife Amanda, Merissa Conley, and husband Daniel Haley Brittany Chance and Rowdy Akin, and wife Jessica, and great-grandchildren, Cooper Chance, Charlotte Conley, and Madilyn Conley.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and sister, Naoma Sue Akin, and son-in-law Jim Conley.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 from 10-11:00 AM in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM in the Chapel.

Interment will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas.
