Doris Ann Fain, 82 of Sanger, Tx passed away on November 6th, 2024 at The Sanger House Assisted Living. She was surrounded by family.

She was born in Henrietta, Oklahoma on July 8th, 1942 to Johnnie and Gladys Dunn.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Fain, her parents, her brothers, David Dunn, Gary Dunn, Johnnie Dunn and Bobby Dunn. And her son Kevin VanHooser.

Doris is survived by her sister Kathy (Donna) Woodson and brother, Larry Dunn.

Doris is also survived by her daughter Jerri Heard, Son-in-law Barry Heard, Grandson Jake Cage, Granddaughter Logyn Heard. Son Jason VanHooser and Granddaughter Alexis VanHooser.

During her youth, Doris was a car hop for the first Sonic Drive-In, in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Later in life, she worked at Kolmar Labs where she made lifelong friends.

Doris enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, shopping, reading and gardening.

Doris absolutely loved children. She had many " honorary" grandchildren:
Dylan, Jade, Sacha and Brianna. Doris also loved many of her neighbors' children and they loved her as well.

Doris's family would like to thank all the caregivers and nurses of Concho Heart Hospice and The Sanger House for the absolute love and care of Doris. Her last months, days and hours were so peaceful because of that love and care.

A Celebration of Life for Doris will be held at her daughter's (Jerri's) home in Sanger, Texas on November 23, 2024 from 11:00AM - 3:00PM.
