Doris Ann McLain, 84, of Denton passed away on March 1, 2024, in Denton. She was born in Denton, Texas, on January 24, 1940, to Charles and Annie Lee Hutchison.

After spending her early years in Denton, her family moved to Dallas, where she grew up. Doris graduated from North Dallas High School and moved to Denton to attend North Texas State College (now the University of North Texas). It was during this time when she met Ronnie, and the two were married in 1960.

After marriage, Doris dedicated her life to raising her family in guiding them through school and extracurricular activities. As her children grew older, Doris returned to work and also pursued completing her college degree at Texas Woman's University, earning her Bachelor's Degree in Library Science in 1985 and beginning her new career at the TWU Blagg- Huey Library, where she worked until her retirement. After retirement Doris enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grand daughter and great-granddaughters, and was so very excited to recently meet her new great-great-grandson.

Doris is survived by her husband, Ronnie McLain of Denton, daughter, Deanna Millican, and husband, Allan of Denton, Tx., son, Rodney McLain, and wife Lori of Denton, Texas, brother, Jim Hutchinson and wife Marilyn, of Plano, granddaughter, Lindsey Lambert, three great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her sister, Charlotte Hutchison, and brother, Charles Hutchison.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 5 PM, until 7 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. Funeral services will be held at Denton Bible Church on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas.
