Dorothy E. Andrews peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on February 10, 2024. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Kevin R. Andrews, daughter Jennifer Andrews of Saginaw, TX, son Kevin and daughter-in-law Tiffani Andrews of Forney, TX, and daughter Carol Ayler of Avon, IN. Dorothy was blessed with 7 grandchildren (Tayler, Alex, Jaide, Hunter, Kasey, Eric, and Brady) and one great-grandchild (Parker) who will miss her tremendously.
Dorothy was born in Queens, NY on August 7, 1946, to Henry A. and Hildegard E. (Bookmiller) Wendelken along with an older sister Anita L. (Wendelken) Andrews. Dorothy and Kevin were married on June 2, 1966, in Juarez, Mexico and were blessed with 3 children. Dorothy and Kevin moved around for Kevin's career and Dorothy never complained. When Kevin retired in July 2012, Dorothy and Kevin returned to TX and enjoyed international travel to many locations including Africa, Australia/New Zealand, Egypt, Galapagos Islands, Antarctica, Ireland, Greece, Turkey, Machu Picchu, Peru, Ecuador, Igauzu Falls Argentina, & a European River Cruise covering many destinations.
Dorothy was also involved with the Robson Ranch West Enders, Ponytail Canasta and served as treasurer on the Bocce Club Board.
Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She devoted her whole life to her family and friends and always put their needs above her own.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Henry A. and Hildegard E. Wendelken, sister Anita L. Andrews, brother-in-law, William R. Andrews Jr. and aunts, uncles, and cousins. Thank you to all our friends and family for your love and support and to Three Oaks In Home Hospice care for the wonderful, loving, supportive environment you gave Dorothy and her family in her final months.
