Dorothy Louise Gorrell Barksdale, 83, of Justin, Texas passed away in Weatherford, Texas on April 22, 2021. She was born to Emma (Fritcher) and Edgar Gorrell in Pilot Point, Texas on August 8, 1937.

She attended schools in Pilot Point and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church of Collinsville, Texas. She married J. Lloyd Barksdale on August 2, 1957 in Justin, Texas and went on to have a son, Gary.

Dorothy worked as a secretary for Barksdale Fence Supply, a company she and Joseph owned.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Emma and Edgar Gorrell, sisters, Rosalie Dodson, Sally Boughman and Mae Woods, brothers, Joe Gorrell and Bobby Gorrell and her beloved husband of 48 years, J. Lloyd Barksdale. Dorothy leaves behind her son, Gary Lynn Barksdale and wife, Toni, grandchildren, Bridgett Barksdale Indra and husband, Keith and Brian Barksdale and wife, Casey, great-grandchildren, Caidence Indra, Jayden Indra, Tinley Barksdale and Bree Barksdale.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. A graveside service will take place at Justin Cemetery in Justin, Texas on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 10:30 A.M. with Rev. Gary Demmitt officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband .
