On Sunday morning August 23, 2020 Dorthy Braly left her earthly tent for a glorious new body free of pain and sickness. She lived in Denton most of her 94 yrs. Attended Texas State Teachers College (UNT). Lived in New York, New Jersey, Illinois and Florida before returning to Denton the town she loved dearly. She loved being a wife and mother living out the virtues spoken of in Proverbs 31. She will be missed by many for her infectious laugh. Those who knew her admired her faith and devotion to family. She excelled in hospitality it was her love gift, serving gladly with a selfless servants heart.

Preceding her in death, parents, J.D. and Irene Gentry, spouse John M. Braly, siblings: Hugh, Jack, Bob & Carl Gentry, Margie Chance, and May Scoggins, grandson Thomas Meriwether.

She is survived by her sister Catherine Mitchell, daughters, Ruth (Barry) Poff, Barbara (Gary) Meriwether, Patty O'Brien, son Gordon (Diana) Braly, 7 grandchildren, 9 great children.
