Dorothy Nell Hill, 82, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, at 12:20 AM in McKinney, Texas. Dorothy was born on October 6, 1943, in Denton, Texas to Oliver Don Patterson & Gertrude Whitfield. Dorothy, or Dot as she was known, was married to James Edward Beauchamp, & later to Karl Hill.
Early on in Dorothy's life, she had two children from James Beauchamp. Dale Beauchamp & Brian Beauchamp, both alive & residing in the DFW area. Dorothy was one of seven siblings: Edith May Roads (deceased), Doris Marie Kruger, Mary Alice Holland, Donald Ray Patterson, Brenda Sue Brown, & Annie Ruth Pennington.
Dorothy was not only a loving, devoted, & caring mother to her sons; she also spent her time being a loving & caring mother-in-law to Tammy Beauchamp, Jackie Rossi, & Lisa Garling.
Dorothy's pride & joy was being a loving Grandmother to her grandchildren: Aaron Beauchamp, Collin & Mollie Cue, Grace Beauchamp, Bethany Beauchamp, Sarah Beauchamp, Benjamin Howell/Beauchamp, & Jeremiah Howell/Beauchamp; & Great Grandmother to Theodore Elisha Cue.
Dorothy at an early age was stricken with rheumatic fever. She asked God, if He would heal her, she would live for Him the rest of her life, & God healed her. Dorothy devoted her life to helping others through prayer; what many in her days would call a prayer warrior. She spent many hours on her knees praying for others needs, so often not addressing her own. In her lifetime, Dorothy participated in many churches, always finding a place to serve, usually singing old gospel hymns & other songs. In her later years, Dorothy found peace & pupose while residing in two nursing homes, investing her energies in the residents & staff. Dorothy's passion & desire to provide a listening ear, an encouraging word, or hope for others through her contagious enthusiasm, will always be remembered in the hearts of those she served.
