Dorothy Dell Howard, 93, of Denton passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at her home. She was born in Nixon, Texas to Seab and Fanny Passmore on January 10, 1925. Dorothy married John Matt  Howard on July 27, 1946. She was a homemaker and a long-time member of First Baptist Denton. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Sheila Helm, of Denton, and her son, Bruce Howard of Brownsburg, Indiana. She also leaves six grandchildren – Aaron Helm of Krum; Stephanie Helm of New Braunfels; Melissa Haenchen of Lakewood, Colorado; Andrew Haenchen of Brownsburg, Indiana; Ben Howard of Brownsburg, Indiana; and Anna Chavez of Bloomington, Indiana; and four great grandchildren – Madison Helm, Megan Helm, Lilah Chavez and Luca Chavez.

Visitation for Dorothy will be Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday also at DeBerry Funeral Directors with interment following at Roselawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be presented to the Senior Adult Ministry at First Baptist Church, Denton.
