Dorothy Ophelia Riney, 88, of Denton passed away on April 12, 2018 in Denton. She was born on April 23, 1929 in Muleshoe, Texas to Silas and Artie Tidwell.

She was married to David Riney who preceded her in death in 2007. She retired from Ottis Engineering as an office manager.  She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was active in all activities at Mayberry assisted living and enjoyed playing dominos.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Teresa  Gannon of Sanger, and great-granddaughter Brittany Sweeney and husband Chris of Denton and two great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded death by her mother and father, daughter, Rose Mary Hock, sons; Junior Clinton Butler, Tommy Joe Butler, sisters Era McVey, Idel Brewer and brothers George Tidwell, Maron Tidwell, Alfred Tidwell and great grandson, Tyler Gannon.

The family will receive friends at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Monday, April 16, from 11-12 with services following in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Interment will be in Old Bethel Cemetery in Canton, Texas.
