Dorthy Marie Pace, Retired Hairdresser, Loving, Caring and Giving to everyone that was fortunate to know her, be family or otherwise. Went to be with our Lord on Monday April 16Th 2012 at home. She was 68 years old. Our beloved "Dottie" passed away from a very rare disease, CJD.
Dorthy was born on March 9, 1944 to Samuel & Eva (Gibson) Johnson in Marion, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents Samuel & Eva (Gibson) Johnson,and Brother Orville Johnson all of Swayzee, IN.
Survivor's include her Spouse, John Pace. Daughter & Son in Law, Tami (Knipp) & Jay Gunter of Justin, TX. Son & Daughter in Law, Ken & Tiffany Knipp of Corpus Christi, TX. Grandchildren, Samuel "Kasey" Knipp, Kayleigh Lewis, Shannon Gunter, Justin Gunter and Troy Gunter, of Justin, TX. Great Grandson Rhyder Mclellan. Loving & Devoted Sister, Wanda Boone of Anderson IN. Loving & Tender Brother & Sister in Law, Linvil & Vicki Johnson of Gaston, IN. Two Neices, Janet Johnson of NC & Aneice that was more like a daughter to her, devoted, kind and never left her side, Annette Ruff of Corpus Christi, a special thanks. Six Nephews, Mike Baker, Johnny Johnson, Josh Johnson, Jason Johnson, Jeff Johnson and Jerik Johnson. A very special Aunt Jane VanWinkle. Many very close Cousins that continue to reach out to our family in this time of need.
And her beloved companion Skeeter.
My mom was kind to everyone, gentle and always the caregiver. She loved with all of her heart and sincerely cared about everyone, so much she would always put others needs before her own.
Memorial Service will be held in Corpus Christi, TX on June 16Th Beach Side. A celebration of an amazing women who touched so many lives.
In Lieu of Flowers I would like to ask donations be made to cjdfoundation.org. in their ongoing research. We desperately need answers for other families. Mom will continue to bless others with her own personal donation that will allow for further research.
