Douglas Edgar Hattenbach, 96, of Denton passed away Monday, November 17, 2014 in Denton. He was born November 6, 1918 in Edna, Texas to Martin and Amalia "Molli" Olga Ustynic Hattenbach. He married Anna Augustina Yendry on October 9, 1948. She preceded him in death. He served in U.S. Army Air Force during WW II. He was awarded 5 Bronze Stars and a Good Conduct Medal for his service. He had retired from Webb Air Force Base.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, with Rosary at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be Friday, 10:00 am, November 21, 2014 at St. Joseph Cemetery in Inez, Texas.
He is survived by his daughters, Phyllis Labbe and husband Adolph of Big Spring, Libby Swartz of Dallas; sons, Raymond and wife Linda of Temple, Lonnie of Albuquerque, James and wife Debbie of Midland, Kevin and wife Jennifer of Denton, Marcus and wife Lara of Austin; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters, Ruby Thurmond and Elnora Penski and brothers, Clyde, Idus and David Hattenbach.
