November 1, 1977 – March 14, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of, Dwayne Maurice Darden who left us on March 14, 2026, leaving a space in the hearts of all who knew him that can never be filled. Born on November 1st, 1977, in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Later in life, he moved to Denton, Texas, where he built friendships and became known for his lively personality and sense of humor. Dwayne was the one who brought laughter and love to all who knew him. Dwayne was one of the funniest people you could ever meet, and known for being full of life, he had this way of making everyone around him laugh or even just smile in the hardest times. Dwayne's life was marked not just by his humor, but by his compassion, loyalty, and generosity. Dwayne cared deeply about everyone around him and was the most selfless man when it came to the ones he loved and always made an effort to show it- whether through a kind word, a helping hand or simply his presence in times of need.
Throughout his life, Dwayne worked many different jobs and always did his best to provide and support himself and those he cared about. Toward the end of his career, he worked at Wingstop and Olive Garden, where his friendly spirit made him memorable to coworkers and customers alike. His work ethic reflected his commitment not only to himself but to everyone around him.
Above all, Family was at the heart of Dwayne's life. As a father, he loved deeply and unconditionally, and if you knew him that's all he talked about were his children. Though he is no longer with us, Dwayne's love, laughter, and presence will forever remain in the hearts of his children.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his late mother Brigitti Burnham but leaves behind his loving father George Burnham. Also to cherish his memory are his children, Xavier Darden, Lyric Darden, Sheddrick Wilhite, Sheldon Wilhite, Kiarra Thomas, and Bella Cox. His sister Daphine Darden, Niece and Nephew Daja Ware and Kaden Green along with his grandchildren Ka 'Myria Wilhite, Yuri Thomas, Kaisen Darden and Emrie. with many extended family members and friends who will continue to honor his life.
Dwayne's presence will be deeply missed; the memories he created the lessons he shared and the love he gave so freely will live on forever.
"Those we love don't go away. They walk beside us every day. Unseen, Unheard, but always near."
