E J Dane, 77, of Denton passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Medical Center in Lewisville. He was born November 15, 1937 in Hebron, TX to Jacob and Elsie Wayland Dane. He married Shirley Harvey on June 4, 1966 in Dallas. He graduated from Pilot Point High School, served in the U.S. Army, was a member of Southmont Baptist Church, Tannehill Masonic Lodge, 32nd degree mason, Scottish Rite, Hella Temple and Elks Lodge. He was the owner of Dane's Vending for 25 years.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors. A Memorial Service will be Monday, January 26, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Southmont Baptist Church with Dr. Gary Loudermilk officiating.

E J is survived by his wife, Shirley Dane of Denton; daughters, Stacie Meeks and husband Ricki of Denton and Pamela Richter and husband Scott of Denton; sons, Mitchel Bradley Dane of Dallas and Matthew Jacob Dane and wife Sara of Wylie; sister, Emma Perry of Denton; grandchildren, Whitney Meeks Bealor, Corrie Meeks Erwin, Hoyt Jacob Richter, Kylie Dane Richter, Ella Jean Dane, and Mia Rose Dane and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Lorraine Simpson and Velda Keith, brothers, James Norman Dane, Robert Frank Dane, Donald Ray Dane and Bobby Manuel Dane.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Southmont Baptist Church.
