Ed Robert Luoma, 91, of Denton, TX went to be with the Lord on August 23, 2016 with final care provided by hospice. Ed was born June 13, 1925 in Chisholm, Minn. to Seeti and Fanny Luoma. He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and a brother. Of his immediate family, he is survived by his brother, Roy, (Illinois) and a host of nieces and nephews in several states, who affectionately referred to him as, "Uncle Bobby."

He is also survived by his wife Joyce, stepdaughters Sandy, Melissa and Becky and their husbands. He was a wonderful grandfather to Holly, Zack, Hunter, Kristin, Katie and Emily who have fond memories of their grandfather and "Gramps"...and a great-grandfather to Isabelle and Caroline.

Born into "The Greatest Generation," Ed knew the value of hard work, and when called on to serve, enlisted in the Navy in WWII. Later, he entered the business world and excelled as a salesman and when settling in Arizona some years later worked for Del Webb in Sun City. He opened Creative World, a floor goods company, in Scottsdale and over the years become one of the top producers for Shaw Carpets in the Phoenix area, working with contractors in the tenet improvement design/build arena.

Ed and his beloved, Joyce, (Ed's Joy) traveled throughout the world, became die-hard fans of RV adventures, and also AirStream owners where Ed became President of a local chapter. They traveled the USA from Alaska, to Seattle to the New England states and San Diego, where summers brought many of the Arizona family together.

Ed made friends with one and all; he was outgoing, inquisitive, hard-working, but always had time for another adventure whether building a cabin in Flagstaff, or traveling to Rocky Point in Mexico. He loved the outdoors, loved to fish, eat good food and have good times with family. But, no matter how far Ed traveled, he stayed true to his Minnesota roots, always pulling for the Vikings, even though the Dallas Cowboys were here in his backyard!

Funeral memorial service will be Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery.
