Edgar Joseph Bierschenk, 76 of Era, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the Denton Regional Medical Center. He was born in Lindsay on August 2, 1936 to William Joseph and Mary Neu Bierschenk. He served in the U.S. Army and married Barbara Forester in Valley View on April 3, 1970. He was a retired truck driver.


A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors.


He is survived by his wife, Barbara Bierschenk of Era, daughters, Susan Pena and husband Geno of Decatur, Mary Crockett and husband Neil of Era, sisters, Imelda Rauschuber of Valley View, Jody Rauschuber and husband Marvin of Valley View, Mary Nell Klement and husband Kenny of Hood, Betty Henscheid and husband Rufus of Muenster, brothers, Billy Bierschenk and wife Dolores of Valley View, Bobby Bierschenk and wife Alma of Oklahoma City OK, Kenneth Bierschenk and wife Marilyn of Muenster, Dennis Bierschenk of Weatherford, grandchildren, Lindsey Pena, Darcy and Addison Crockett.
