Obituary

Edith Faye Cockrill, 88, of Denton, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2013. She was born on December 27, 1924 in Krum to James William Cockrill and Emma Lee Whiteside Cockrill. She sang in the choir and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Denton, and was a member of the Denton Round Up Club.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 5-7 pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Rev. Buddy Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery.

Edith is survived by her nieces, Billie Splawn, Paula Splawn and husband Gerald, and Darajanette (Tony) Feagins Jones; 3 great nieces; 3 great nephews; many great great nephews and nieces; friend of 30 years, Chris Vearo of Indiana; and all the wonderful people at The Vintage, who loved her and took care of her. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Donna Mae Thompson and Christine Feagins; brothers, John Paul Cockrill and William Harold Cockrill; and nephew, Illie Splawn.
