Edna Marie Newton, 87 of Lake Dallas, Texas passed away on June 29, 2024, in Sanger Texas.
She was born to Lonnie and Myrtle (Garrison) Lynch on January 26, 1937, in Lake Dallas, Texas.
She married Marvin Newton, on April 8, 1955.
Edna attend Lake Dallas ISD and then high school at Lewisville ISD. She retired from Denton State School, where she was a medical technician, CPR instructor and the unit supervisor.
She was a member of the Lake Dallas Baptist church. She was a member of the Rebekah lodge and was on the board of the Swisher Cemetery Association. Edna enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing dominoes and card games with family and friends. She and Marvin often won yard of the month for the display of their gardening skills. Edna enjoyed canning the home-grown tomatoes that Marvin grew. Edna and Marvin's yard was a to go place to experience the spirit of Christmas with all the lights and homemade decorations. Of all these things, Edna loved her family and friends the most. She was always there for them.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy Boyd and her husband Randy of Corinth, Connie Schmitz and her husband Eric of Sanger. Her sister, Birdie Bragg of Gordonville. Her brother Junior Lynch of Mt. Pleasant, five grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, Many nieces and nephews that loved their Aunt Edna dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Newton, Her daughter Nancy Callahan, and her parents.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Shawn Boyd, Chris Boyd, Michael Schmitz, Ryan Schmitz, Great Grandsons: Ayden Byard, Carter Boyd, Canaan Boyd and special family friend: Jay Byard
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 5, 2024, from 5 pm to 7 pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton Texas
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 10 am at the First Baptist Church in Lake Dallas, Texas Interment will follow at Swisher Cemetery in Lake Dallas, Texas
The family would like the thank Trio hospice! Trio hospice stepped up to the plate and provided WONDERFUL care to mom and the family, well beyond our expectations.
