Edward Newton Lamport of Denton, Texas passed away on August 26, 2020 at the age of 93. He was born on April 13, 1927 in Benton, IL to Edgar and Lovell Lamport.
Edward graduated from Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, Georgia. He served in World War II and the Korean War.
He graduated from East Texas State University with a B.S. Degree in chemistry. He was Second Lieutenant and a trainer in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife Janelle of 50 years, daughter Dianne Freeman and husband, Alford of Mountain Home Arkansas, son Michael Griggs and wife, Donna of Roanoke Texas, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Edward was preceded in death by parents, Edgar Gerald and Lovell May Lamport, son Edward N. Lamport, Jr. and sister Mary Lou Baker.
Edward had many hobbies including: Ham Radio, RVing, sailing, scuba diving, restoring Model T Fords and model trains. He was also a commercial and private pilot.
A graveside service will be held at Green Valley Cemetery in Green Valley. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your choice of charity.
