IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward L.
Teer
September 6, 1933 – February 7, 2024
Edward "Ed" Teer, of Argyle, passed away on February 7, 2024, in Grapevine, Texas. He was born in McAllen, Texas on September 6, 1933, to Howard and Dorothy Teer.
While Ed ended his professional career in various positions in the mortgage banking industry, from Commercial Loan Manager to President, his first love was always in front of the camera. In 1950, while still in high school, he bugged the owner of a small radio station until he gave him a job. He went on to get a BFA degree in Radio-TV Broadcasting from UT in 1955, earning the "Most Outstanding Student in Radio and Television" citation in his senior year. He worked for WFAA (Channel 8), KRLD (Channel 4), and KTVT (Channel 11) before leaving the industry that he had loved so much in 1963, yet he didn't hesitate to jump in and help his former colleagues during the coverage of JFK's assassination in Dallas. He moved on to other jobs, but he always missed reporting the news.
Ed is survived by his wife of almost 51 years, Kay Teer of Argyle, former wife Donni Brooks of Hurst, daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly (K.D.) and Robert Holmes of Argyle, sons Drake A. Teer of Argyle and Lee Scott Teer of Hurst, Tx, and cousin Dottie Harroun. He was preceded in death by his parents Dot and Howard Teer and cousins Stu Harroun and Charlie Rogers.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2024, at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas.
