Edwin Lowe Slimp, 83 of Denton passed away on August 24, 2018 at the Senior Care Nursing Center.  He was born September 8, 1934 in Rhome, TX to Kemp Lowe Slimp and Cordelia Teal Slimp.  He attended Northwest Schools.  He married Shirley Ray Williams on November 21, 1953.  They were members of the Town North Baptist Church.  He was employed by Ashland Oil where he was an accountant and comptroller.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at the Town North Baptist Church with burial to follow at the Eakin Cemetery in Ponder.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ray Slimp of Denton, daughter, Cindy Kay Newman and husband, Leonard of Mt. Vernon, sons, Gary and Ricky Slimp of Denton, sisters, Shirley Rochford and husband, Larry of Fort Worth, Joan Buskirk and husband, Bill of Austin, brother, Alvin Slimp and wife, Barbara of Cleburn, grandchildren, Robert Newman and Amanda Smith, and great grandchildren, Hannah, Logan and Chris. Edwin also leaves behind many neices, nephews, cousins and friends.
