Elizabeth Louise Black passed away on May 8th at her home in Argyle, Texas. She was surrounded by her loving family as she entered the arms of her loving Savior. Betty, as she liked to be called, was born on January 17, 1957, to Edward and Marjorie Kenyon. She grew up in Whittemore, IA, on the family dairy farm and was one of 9 siblings, each of whom she deeply cherished: Richard, Pat, Ron, Don, Bill, Tim, Charles & Anthony.

Upon high school graduation, Betty attended St. Joseph's Nursing School in Sioux City, IA, where she used her gifts of kindness and compassion to care and attend to those who were sick. Her favorite nursing job was working in Dr. Roger's pediatric office.

Betty married the love of her life, Steve, on February 25, 1978. They shared a beautiful and fun life together raising four daughters - Rachel, Stephanie, Jenni & Molly. She was a devoted wife and mother who with excellence juggled both stay at home mom duties and bookkeeping for the family-owned construction company, SMB Enterprises.

Betty was a lover of Jesus and could be found every morning reading her Bible while drinking a cup of hot coffee and praying for her family. She was the epitome of Proverbs 31, "her children rise up & bless her; her husband also, and he praises her." Betty was an adoring grandmother and was affectionately called Bebe by her grandchildren. She loved to take her grandkids to the library, make hot chocolate on cold days, and watch ALL of their sporting events and activities.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Edward & Marjorie Kenyon, her in-laws, Eldon & Bess Black, brother-in-law Donnie Black, brothers Charles, Anthony and Don Kenyon, sister-in-law Marita Kenyon, & brother-in-law Craig Hand.

Left to carry on her beautiful legacy is her husband, Steve, of 46 years, Rachel & Josh Combs, children Kaylee, Caleb, Eli & Mac Combs, Stephanie & Brent Southard, children Kaden, Briley, Kenzie, Briggs & Bryson Southard, Jenni & Adam Panter, children Bennett, Beau, Boss & Bess Panter and Molly & Andrew Hart, as well as Betty's siblings & all her nieces & nephews.

A funeral will be held at 3pm on Friday, May 17th at St. Mark Catholic Church (6500 Crawford Rd, Argyle, TX 76226). Immediately following will be her "Celebration of Life" at Blue Moon Creek (10515 Fincher Rd, Argyle, TX 76226).
