IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elsie Lucille
Frederick Jay
October 4, 1931 – January 31, 2024
Elsie Lucille Frederick Jay, 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends on January 31, 2024. Elsie was born and raised in Denton, where she lived all of her life. Elsie graduated from The Demonstration School and made many lifelong friends there. She attended St. Paul Lutheran Church and knew the Lord as her personal savior.
Elsie and her husband were successful custom home builders, and later in life she found a new career as a switchboard operator at Electronic Data Systems (EDS). She often loved to share that she and Ross Perot were on a first-name basis. Elsie was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend. She wasn't one to sit still, and would take off on a vacation on a whim. She loved to travel to her favorite locales, including San Antonio, Fredericksburg, Victoria (British Columbia), or anywhere a cruise ship sailed to.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Emmett Frederick of Denton and daughters Ann Cole and Monty Harp of Denton.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Emmett and Janet Jay of Denton, and grandson Micheal Harp of Denton and granddaughter Dr. Whitney Thomas and husband Carl Thomas of Little Elm.
Services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Tuesday, February 6 at 10 a.m. followed by a graveside service at Roselawn Memorial Park.
