Emma "Lourdes" was a dedicated mom, an adored wife and daughter and kind friend. She was truly loved by all. Emma "Lourdes" was born in Mexicali, Mexico on March 9, 1975. She moved to California at the age of 5 years old. Graduating from University of San Diego High School and attended Grossmont College. She moved to Texas after marrying the love of her life, James, on December 23, 2000.
Emma "Lourdes" spent many hours volunteering at Liberty Christian School where her children attended. She participated in many Liberty events over the years including being a Room Mom, charity events, Ladies Tea, as well as many other events. Emma "Lourdes" always went out of her way to assist anyone she met, even strangers. It was important to her to be a friend to anyone who needed help, love and encouragement. Her presence at Liberty will be missed and her absence will be noticed.
Emma "Lourdes" was an involved cheer mom and volunteered at Champion Cheer where her daughter attended. She loved all the members of the team from the girls to parents, coaches, and staff. She had very memorable events at each tournament at Pine Cove Retreat, Show off, practices and the " spray tanning parties" she hosted and participated in. Emma "Lourdes" had a special relationship with so many people involved with cheer at Champion and other clubs and organizations, with her generous spirit reaching as far as Australia. Her presence was always known at any event, the cheer world will be a little quieter without her tenacious zest for life.
Emma "Tita" Lourdes Shaffer was one of God's most precious gifts that touched so many people's lives. This bright spark of a girl was born in Lewisville, Texas on September 5, 2003. She was a student at Liberty Christian since Pre-K and was in the 6th grade. "Tita" participated, as well as volunteered with "Someone Please Help Me" program. Much like her Mother, there wasn't a person she met who didn't have something wonderful to say about "Tita". She lived a model, Christ-like life and was always able to assist anyone or stand-up for someone or just be an honest friend to a complete stranger.
"Tita" was a Competitive Cheerleader at Champion Cheer in Southlake, Texas. She just celebrated her 5th year with them but has been cheerleading since 2009. She loved cheer and her club and team. She always had the most fun in cheer with her teammates and friends. "Tita" had a strong bond and relationship with all of the girls, coaches, staff and Champion moms. Outside of her home life, her life at Liberty and Champion Cheer were her 2nd and 3rd homes and she was equally loved at both. She had so many loved ones at Champion that made such an impact on her daily life. In addition to cheerleading, Tita competed at ANS Gymnastics for several years under the love and guidance of Coach Petra Houtz and Ashley Simpson. She loved them both as well as the friends and their families there.
The Shaffer Girls are making heaven sparkle a little brighter, let us remember the love and kindness they showed so many and carry it forward in their remembrance. #TitaTough #EmmaStrong #LoveLikeEmma #ShafferStrong
