Zollinger
March 21, 1977 – June 11, 2022
Eric Michael Zollinger, age 45, was called home by our Lord on June 11 th , 2022. Eric was born in North Richland Hills on March 21 st , 1977 and grew up in the surrounding area.
Eric exemplified what it means to be a fierce protector and provider for his family. His ability to help guide them allowed his family to all flourish and become independent, strong characters. He cherished his Catholic faith, family, and friendships above all else and constantly created everlasting memories.
He was an avid lover of the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and teaching his children his survival skills and life lessons. His love of knowledge and curiosity for all subjects allowed him to explore and flourish in a variety of career fields. He proudly served in the United States Army earning numerous accolades and awards before his honorable discharge. He then followed his love of flight to become a flight instructor and then a pilot for American Airlines all while earning his Bachelor's in Aeronautics from Emery-Riddle Aeronautical University. Further down life's path, he became a registered professional land surveyor and created his own surveying company allowing him to spend more time with his family.
Eric continuously dove into new environments and strived to deepen his understanding within various topics. He loved to play golf and compete in tournaments with his best friend. He loved to take weekend hunting trips with family. He also explored a variety of martial arts which allowed him the opportunity to earn his black belt in American Karate as well as study Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at the Gracie Barra Academy. He was an active purple belt and had been involved within the gym for the past six years. He competed in tournaments and was blessed to have an amazing camaraderie within his gym. He enjoyed the friendships, knowledge and challenges earned during his martial arts career.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 20 th , at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church in Argyle. The Rite of Committal will directly follow at the Justin Cemetery.
Eric is survived by his wife of 23 years, Megan, and their four, beautiful children: Emma, Trey, Amme and Ty. The Zollinger's are parishioners of Saint Mark Catholic Church and know that their father is now in perpetual peace, with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Psalm 23: 1-6
