Obituary

Erin Renee Leamon, 34, passed away peacefully at home in Argyle, Texas, on Sunday evening, Sept. 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. A Celebration of Life/Visitation will be held at DeBerry Funeral Home in Denton, TX, on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 2:00 to 4:00pm. Erin was born Jan. 24, 1992, in Dallas, TX, to Charles Glenn and Gresha Ann Leamon. She was their fourth child. In 1994 at 2 years old the family moved to Argyle, TX. She attended Mother’s Day Out at the First Baptist Church in Argyle and went to Argyle ISD from kindergarten through twelfth grade graduating from Argyle High School on June 2, 2010. As a pre-kindergartener Erin started playing soccer and T-ball. She went on to include gymnastics, basketball, volleyball and her most skilled sport of softball, where she excelled at 3rd base. Erin was in middle and high school band playing the French horn and mellophone. She was a member of the 2008 Argyle Marching State Champion Band. Her Wind Ensemble won the TMEA 3A Honor Band Competition & performed at the TMEA Convention on Feb. 15, 2008. After high school Erin attended the Univ. of Texas in Austin receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the Dept. of Government on May 17, 2014. She went on to attend SMU where she obtained a Degree of Juris Doctor from the Dedman School of Law on May 19, 2018. Erin was awarded her State of Texas Law License on November 2, 2018. Erin went to work for a wonderful company, Level Legal, where she became a team lead and enjoyed working with everyone there. The family wants to especially thank Roberta Ozan for everything she did for Erin before and after she became ill.Erin found inspiration and joy in the worlds of Harry Potter and anime. She attended many conventions with friends in costumes she created herself. She also developed a passion for Nintendo Switch and online action adventure games. Among her favorites were Legend of Zelda, Fire Emblem, and Hoyoverse, through which she nurtured friendships, played every release, and created original characters using her strong artistic talent. Erin was an incredibly kind, well-humored, and strong person. On Dec. 25, 2023, she proved just how tough she was when it was discovered that she had brain cancer — Glioblastoma multiforme. She battled the disease for almost 3 years. The family would like to thank all the wonderful caregivers at Hospice+ for their love and kindness towards Erin during her last 6 weeks of life.Survivors include her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Chrystal and Timothy Stevens of Rockwall, TX; sister, Corey Ann Leamon of Brooklyn, NY; brother, Derek Glenn Leamon of Argyle, TX; Aunt, Linda Sue Leamon of Denton, TX. Preceding her in death were both sets of grandparents, Frank Jerry and Thedra Nell Pala; Forrest Robert Leamon and Norma Reimer Leamon Case.Erin will be cremated on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
