Erwin Franklin Reinhardt, 85, of Denton passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015. He was born May 8, 1929 at the Historic Texas Reinhardt Homestead in New Caney, Texas to Lillie Bell Freeman and Conrad Lee Reinhardt. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, after which he worked as a meter reader, and in accounting at Hughes Tool Company in Casper, Wy. He married the Wilma Rose Snare on August 8, 1964 in New Orleans, La. They recently celebrated their Golden Anniversary. During his married life, he worked primarily as a teacher at Goliad Elementary and Odessa Junior College. He was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church. He was an alumnus of University of New Mexico at Las Cruces, Texas Tech and Texas Women's University.
He loved to travel and learn about history, astronomy, and geology. His book collections and numerous travels attributed to his lifelong quest and undying passion to understand more about the world around him and those he loved to share experiences with.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 2:30 PM in Cole Chapel at First United Methodist Church, Denton with Rev. Jon Kendzie officiating.
Erwin is survived by his wife, Wilma Reinhardt of Denton; daughter, Leigh Anne Munoz of CA; son, Vernon Lee Reinhardt of Houston; grandchildren, Francisco Reinhardt Munoz, Kendall Reinhardt and Morgan Reinhardt.
