Evelyn Elaine (Smith) Lochabay, 78, of Krum, Texas, formerly of Garland, Texas, beloved wife of the late James Michael Lochabay, passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 21. Elaine, as she was known to all, was born on June 14, 1948, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the daughter of the late Henry Earl Smith and Evelyn Stocking Smith.

Elaine loved her family fiercely and worked jobs that made it possible for her to be off when her kids were out of school. She loved to swim and made sure all her kids knew how to swim from a young age. She loved to cook and made a variety of cuisines from scratch.

Elaine is survived by daughter Carrie (Alan) Bishop of Krum, Texas, son Tracy Lochabay of Hallsville, Texas, and daughter Jennifer (Michael) Joyner of Liberty Hill, Texas; her brother Ray (Caroline) Smith of The Villages, Florida and sister Connie (Mark) Bartlett of South Jordon, Utah; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Elaine, is preceded in death by son Michael Earl Lochabay, brother Richard “Dick” Smith, grandson Jacob Lochabay and granddaughter Samantha Joyner.
