IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Fern Elizabeth
Little
November 17, 1928 – May 22, 2018
Fern Elizabeth Little, 89, of Denton, Texas,
passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2018 in Denton,Texas.
She was a loving mother, loyal sister, grandmother, great grandmother, auntie, great aunt, great-great aunt, and very dear friend.
She was born on November 17, 1928 in Denton, Texas to James Samuel and Annie Mae (Morse) Owens.
Fern married Bobby Ray Little in Denton, Texas on February 20, 1947. He preceded her in death in 2007.
Fern was an incredible woman. She was an artist and loved crafts and arranging flowers. She had a generous, loving spirit and felt obligated to donate to every organization that sent a request – cash, clothing, food. The neighborhood cats will miss her attention and treats, as will the backyard birds.
Fern never procrastinated. If something needed done, she was on it – the original "get 'er done" girl.
Fern was independent to the very end.
She entertained family and friends with open arms and a huge spread and was considered a great hostess and wonderful cook.
Fern read and studied her bible every day and attended church regularly. People would call her to pray for them. Everyone knew she was a spirit-filled, special lady.
Fern was a member of the Denton Chapter of the Eastern Star and a member of Eagle Point Church.
She retired from GTE.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Deberry Funeral Directors.
Fern is survived by her son, Sammy Ray Little and his companion Michele of Alaska; her sister Ann Mathiasch of Denton and her two daughters, Lil Truffle and Vivian Hajeer; the children of her deceased sister Bobby Lou, Mindy Taylor and Jimmy and Carroll Ballard; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and her many, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Fern is still here, living on, a part of every one of us whose lives she touched. She is also happily reunited with her Lord, and all those family and friends who proceeded her in her final journey. She is blessed to be with her husband, BR; their son, Jimmy Lynn; Her Mother, Annie and her Daddy, Sam; her siblings, Pat, Hubert and Bobby Lou. May they all rest in peace.
