Florence Lillian Holt, "Chickie," 86, passed from her earthly body into her heavenly spirit on Saturday, May 24, 2014. She resided at Lake Forest Good Samaritan in Denton, Texas.
Chickie was born on February 26, 1928, in Putnam, Connecticut. She spent her early childhood in Maine and returned to Connecticut to marry and start a family. In 1968, she was hired as the first female manager at the American Standard manufacturing plant, located in Plainfield. She served as Chairman of the American Red Cross Water Safety Council for the State of Connecticut from 1969-1971. Chickie retired from American Standard in 1988 and then moved to Argyle, Texas, in 1990, to be closer to her sons, Gregg & Wayne.
She enjoyed travelling with friends and family, was active on the Lake Forest Village Council and had many friends. The love of her life was her granddaughter, Haylee.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Gregg & Roberta Holt, Kingwood, Texas; Wayne & Jennifer Holt, Argyle, Texas; and their daughter, Haylee.
A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, May 27th at 1:00 pm at the Lake Forest Good Samaritan Chapel.
