Obituary

Floyd George Hendrickson born December 12, 1922 in Redwood Falls, MN to Nels & Mabel Hendrickson passed away peacefully on September 7 in Denton Texas. He loved sports and was an all-state football player in high school. He was in the Navy in WW2 serving on the armed guard of merchant ships sailing between the US and England. He was on the command ship in the English Channel on D-Day and on one of the destroyers in Tokyo Bay when the Japanese surrendered to General McArthur. He was recalled to active service in the Korean War and served on a destroyer off the coast of Korea. In 1949 he married Betty Jean Volk who passed away in 1950 while he was on active duty with the Navy. He was married to Agnes Elliott from 1952 until her death in 1988. In 1989 he married Betty Geisinger. In 1985 Floyd retired from British Petroleum after 25 years.

He is survived by his wife Betty in Denton TX, his daughter Treva Youngren and son in law Doug of Windsor CO, grandson Trey Bird Uvalde TX, step children Byron Elliott Albuquerque NM, Sharon Dodd of Tennessee and John Lodge Denton TX, his brother John Hendrickson Woodland Hills CA and sisters Pearl Schafer Nampa ID, Helen Schneider and Violet Harder both of Redwood Falls MN
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Nels Hendrickson Jr. and his sister Bernice Noack.

Floyd was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Interment will be at a later date in Washington County, IN.
