IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frances Reese
Hannah
February 25, 1945 – November 12, 2025
Frances Kay Reese Guynes Hannah passed away in Denton, Texas on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
Always a free spirit, a force greater than nature, as one of her friends described her, Fran Hannah has left the earthly realm. Fran was born to Raleigh and Frances Harvey Reese on February 25,1945, in Ballinger, Texas. She graduated from Ballinger High School, where she thrilled audiences with her baton twirling. She carried that talent to Texas Tech University, where she met her first husband, Dr. Steve Guynes, whom she married in 1965. She graduated from Texas Tech and Texas Woman's University. In 1969 Steve and Fran moved to Denton, Texas, where Fran immediately became involved in the community. She was a charter member of Denton Benefit League, an officer in Clear Horizons Department of Ariel Club, president of the Denton County Texas Tech Ex-Students Association, president of the Denton County TWU Alumnae Association, a Board member of The Arts Guild, and a Board member of Music Theatre of Denton. She made people laugh, while performing with the Denton Community Theater fund raisers.
Fran is survived by her greatest loves, her children Holly Guynes Roberts (Mike), Stephen Carl Guynes (Frankie), William Darin Guynes (Michelle Lee), her grandchildren Jonathan Roberts, Malone Roche (Connor), Reese Randall (Colin), Aidan Guynes (Megan) and her great-granddaughter Stevie Randall.
Her children and grandchildren and their friends called her La La. She loved entertaining her family and friends with good dinners and lots of conversations. She loved her gardening and every Spring had a worship the Azaleas Dinner. Her Christmas parties were a highlight of her years, where she cooked for days and entertained her family, friends and clients.
After her second marriage ended, Fran became a Realtor, where she was a Top Producer Realtor for many years. She loved her clients.
One of her sayings was, "if it is not fun, I won't do it," and she had a lot of fun during her lifetime and laughed more than anyone. She is now flying high and watching over her precious family and many loved ones.
There will be no funeral service. She has requested that her children plant her ashes under a hydrangea, because hydrangeas are big and showy!
