Obituary

Frances Dunbar Jones, 93, of Denton passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at home surrounded by family. She was born on October 17, 1924 in Southgate, Ca. to Eber N. and Helen (Harris) Dunbar.

Frances was 16 months old when the family settled in Saint Jo, Texas. She graduated in 1942 from Saint Jo High School and worked at the Dallas National Bank.

She married J.R. Jones, who worked for C & S Hardward and managed three stores for them till they moved to Denton with Bobby Jay and Becky. In 1963 they opened the Denton Center Hardward Store and it was a success. Frances worked side by side with her husband J.R. "Jay" Jones and their son Bobby but daughter Becky decided to become a beautician. She was a member at First United Methodist Church.

Frances is survived by her son, Bobby Jones and wife Kathy, daughter, Becky Stumbaugh, seven grandchildren, Ronda, Rita, Rob, Ron, Mark, Terry and Chris, thirteen great grandchildren, Jordan, Ronnie, Austin, Kara, Michaela, Tyler, Wade, Dusty, Mia, Brady, Peyton, Grayson, Meghan and five great great grandchildren, Cayden, Riley, Elle, Cayden and Silas.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 2-4 P.M. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
