Dianne Roznovsky, 79, entered the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 17, 2026, in Denton, Texas. While those who loved her grieve her absence, they find peace in knowing that her faith has become sight and that she is now exactly where she longed to be—with her Lord.

Dianne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dennis Roznovsky, and her parents, Albon and Laura Russell.

She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Jeremy Moon of Denton; her two grandsons, Kyle and Caleb Moon, who were among the greatest joys of her life; her brother, Ronnie Russell and his wife, Marilyn, of Tyler; her sister, Becky York and her husband, Buddy, of Shreveport; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who were blessed by her kindness and friendship.

Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, Dianne attended East Texas Baptist University, where she earned her degree in education. She began what would become a devoted 32-year career teaching elementary students in the Columbia-Brazoria ISD before retiring in 2000. During her career, she was honored as Teacher of the Year, a reflection of the creativity, passion, and love she brought to every classroom. She especially treasured her years teaching in the Gifted and Talented program, always finding fun and creative ways to make learning exciting for her students.

Teaching wasn’t simply her profession—it was part of who she was. Even after retirement, she continued doing what she loved most with her grandsons, Kyle and Caleb. Always finding creative ways to teach them something new, or simply encouraging their curiosity, “Meme” made learning an adventure. And many visits concluded with a batch of her famous “Meme Cookies,” a tradition that will always bring smiles and cherished memories.

Dianne was also a founding member of the Alpha Delta Kappa teacher sorority chapter, where she built lifelong friendships with fellow educators.

She married Dennis Roznovsky in 1989, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and serving others. In 2007, Dennis and Dianne moved to Denton to be closer to Kim, Jeremy, and Kyle (later Caleb), embracing every opportunity to be involved in their lives. Being “Meme” was one of the greatest blessings of her life, and nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her grandsons. She was also a proud big sister who dearly loved Ronnie and Becky. She treasured the time they spent together.

Dianne’s faith was the foundation of everything she did. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Brazoria before becoming a devoted member of Southmont Baptist Church in Denton. She faithfully served in the Adult 3 Sunday School Class, organized Joy Night social gatherings, and lovingly helped coordinate countless meals for families grieving the loss of a loved one. She was always looking for opportunities to serve others with generosity, compassion, and a servant’s heart.

More than anything, Dianne wanted people to know Jesus. She believed the most important relationship anyone can ever have is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. That faith sustained her throughout her life and gave her complete confidence that when she closed her eyes here on earth, she would open them in Heaven with her Savior.

Our hearts are broken because we will miss her every day, but our grief is tempered with hope, because we know where she is. Through God’s amazing love and the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ, Dianne is finally home. We rejoice knowing she is whole again, forever in His presence, and experiencing the joy she so often spoke about.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of A Joyful Journey in Denton. During Dianne’s final months, they cared for her with extraordinary compassion, dignity, and love. They treated her as one of their own family members, and they shared in our sorrow as we said goodbye.

Memorial contributions may be made to Southmont Baptist Church's Missions, in honor of Dianne Roznovsky. Dianne’s greatest desire was for others to know the love, grace, and saving hope found only in Him.

A celebration of Dianne’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Southmont Baptist Church in Denton, Texas followed by visitation.
